Taylor Frankie Paul speaks out after her ex Tate Paul tried to get a restraining order against her.
“I spent the day crying and fighting for my two older children,” Taylor, 32, wrote via Instagram Stories on Friday, July 3, referring to her and Tate’s children: daughter Indy, 8, and son Ocean, 6. “They returned yesterday after being held back and expressed how excited they were to spend this year watching the fireworks with me.”
The reality star became emotional over the challenges she reportedly faced co-parenting with her ex.
“Your dad even told me we could EXTEND it until Monday, so I told them the exciting news just to have him take it back?” she claimed. “They were lied to and it hurt my stomach to see them cry, confused and wondering why…”
Taylor Frankie Paul exploded online when she began sharing social media videos with a group of other Mormon mothers during the coronavirus pandemic. Paul, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has often collaborated with Whitney Leavitt, Miranda McWhorter, Demi Engemann, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews, Layla Taylor (…).
On Tuesday, June 30, it was revealed that Tate, 32, had filed a temporary restraining order in a Utah court and requested a hearing. He also filed a motion to modify the terms of their divorce and custody agreement.
Tate’s request was ultimately rejected a day later.
“As Tate himself acknowledges, many of his supporting claims are based on inadmissible hearsay, without any corroborating evidence,” states court documents obtained by Us weekly read on Wednesday, July 1st. “Many of the concerns, such as children not doing well in school and expressing sadness, require ongoing attention and cannot be addressed through an emergency custody modification order.”
The statement continued: “The court recognizes that what he claims to hear may cause concern, but contrary to the assertion that the children were in imminent danger, Taylor alleges that Tate left the children with her from June 11 to 17, 2026, when he traveled to Iceland. The court cannot find immediate and irreparable harm within the meaning of Rule 65A and the application is denied.”
Tate has since filed a motion for reconsideration and submitted several exhibits. This comes because Taylor is still embroiled in legal issues with his ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensenwith whom she shares son Ever, 2. The former couple were previously granted restraining orders against each other following several domestic disputes.
Amid the drama, a source told Us On Wednesday, Taylor shared that Taylor recently voluntarily checked herself into a rehab facility that offers mental health treatment at the recommendation of her doctor.
“She is focused on working with her mental health professionals and has signed up for a voluntary residency,” the insider shared. “She has since been cleared and has left. Her priority remains working on her mental health and being a good mother.”

Taylor referenced seeking treatment in her social media post on Friday.
“I had my children blamed for doing the right thing…why would I ever ask for help again?” She continued, claiming that she is “clean” aside from prescription medication and accused her exes of being “controlling.”
“This is abuse by proxy,” she claimed of an unnamed former partner who she claimed showed signs of “coercive control…so abuse.”
Taylor continued, “He begged me to tell him what I was going through… He lied, twisted it, and then teamed up with the person who did it to me.”
