Skyblivion’s release “gets closer” as the creators of the massive Skyrim mod begin recruiting for a big final marketing campaign. G Trends

Skyblivion, this massive Oblivion remake mod that was originally supposed to release last year, finally seems to be on the verge of happening. While they have yet to set a full release date, the mod’s creators have announced that they are looking for volunteers to join their communications team and help with the final effort to get the word out about their creation.

“As we approach our release, our communications team is growing – and we need your help to get the word out,” Skyblivion communications manager Evan Flatt wrote in an announcement posted on the mod. Discord And social networks. “We’re looking for volunteers with video production or social media experience to help us support projects like trailer editing, gameplay captures, and developer interviews. You will work alongside our communications department to get the message out! »

Game capture artists armed with the controllers necessary to capture smooth footage of the mod in action are what the team is specifically looking for. Interested people can apply via The Skyblivion website.

As of this writing, the modders have not set a release date for their work, which they have understandably been reluctant to do given that their previous planned release window of 2025 apparently proved an albatross and ended up failing. We at least know for sure that there will be a date, with Flatt himself confirming in late August that Skyblivion wouldn’t drop out of nowhere like Bethesda’s Oblivion remaster did last year.

So that begs the question. When? I think we can safely rule out the November 19th date due to GTA 6, although there wouldn’t be any overlap in release platforms with that game only being available on console at launch and the nature of Skyblivion making it PC exclusive. It’s already mid-September, which probably means October or December, assuming modders want to do like the rest of the gaming industry, except Devolver Digital, and avoid getting wiped off the face of the Earth by the big initial GTAening. Then again, World of Warcraft: Forever will be released on PC in early November, so perhaps Skyblivion can do something similar.

Regardless, all I hope is that the mod enjoys as smooth a launch as possible, considering how much fun its spiritual sibling Fallout: London had in terms of initial bugs. I will persevere as best I can either way, but others with a less stubborn will in the face of CTDs and detached skeletons might miss out if Skyblivion is riddled with problems at the first gates.
