Khloe Kardashian doesn’t rule out finding love with someone new after their breakup Tristan Thompson – but she has no interest in welcoming a child with a future partner.
“When you have a baby, it’s forever. So choose wisely, guys,” Khloé, 42, said Kris Jenner on the Thursday, October 15th episode The KardashianS.
Khloé said that her past relationships have influenced her approach to future family planning, adding, “In my dating life, I’ve experienced many situations that have caused me trauma. I’m not going to hurt myself because of the trauma. I think the ideal is to be with someone else and not necessarily have children with that person.”
The reality star, who shares two children with ex Tristan, 35, went on to explain that she doesn’t want to ease a situation that could potentially cause even more division.
“I don’t want me and my husband to have kids and then my kids think, ‘Oh, we’re not that important because their dad lives in this house,'” she explained. “I don’t want to cause a lot of trouble in my household because I love the way it is.”
Khloe also hinted that she hasn’t ruled out having more children.
“I own the embryo (with Tristan) completely. I don’t even have to tell Tristan that this is happening because they are mine,” she added. “These are my embryos. When we separated, I had him sign that I could have it. And it’s legal. So it’s my embryo.”
She continued, “But I don’t know if I have the bandwidth to have another baby. … I love sisters and I think every girl needs a sister, and I personally would love another daughter. But I’m also getting older, and that’s a lot. I just feel like I don’t know if I can handle it.”
Khloé defended her decision to only use an embryo that she and Tristan created, saying, “I’m going to say the surrogate is pregnant. Or I’m not going to have another baby. Marry them, you can divorce them. If you don’t have children, you don’t have to see them again.”
In the past, Khloé has been open about how her past relationships — and motherhood — helped keep her in no rush to find a new partner. Before their split, Khloé and Tristan dated on and off from 2016 to 2021, eventually splitting for good following his numerous cheating scandals.
“Tristan and I always get along great. He and I have a great friendship relationship. We get along well and for my children I will put everything aside. What’s done is done. So why should I still hold on to (the past drama)?” Khloé said on The Kardashians in June 2023, “I don’t have to punish him because I’m not getting back together with him.”
Khloé praised the enforced boundaries for allowing her to start over with Tristan.
“When I’m not here, he’s here. I’d rather him be here than a nanny. There are still limits. I definitely go full throttle on a lot of things,” she added. “Nobody chills here if there aren’t kids around. It’s always about the kids and that’s what it is. But we don’t hang out alone.”
Hulu releases new episodes of The Kardashians every Thursday.
