14 killed in an explosion that rocked a weapons warehouse in Syria (authorities) G trends

An explosion occurred in a weapons warehouse in Idlib Governorate, northwestern Syria, killing 14 people on Wednesday, the local health department said, without specifying the cause of the explosion.

The Idlib Health Department said, “The outcome of the explosion that occurred in a temporary warehouse collecting weapons and war remnants near the city of Sarmada… recorded 14 dead and 11 wounded in a preliminary count.”

The Information Department of the Syrian Ministry of Defense earlier told state television that a number of ministry personnel were injured in the incident.

Syrian media broadcast images showing large columns of smoke rising from the site of the explosion, while rescuers rushed to the area.

This incident is the second fatal explosion in the city of Idlib this month, after a car carrying ammunition exploded, killing five people in the city of Binnish.
