Tottenham have confirmed the sale of Jedd Spence to Inter Milan for a fee of £30m, ending a four-year spell at the club that included loan spells in three countries, a Europa League winners’ medal and a World Cup campaign.
Tottenham issued a statement confirming the agreement with the Serie A champions on Saturday, after giving Spence permission to travel to Milan earlier in the week.
The defender landed at the city’s airport in the early hours of Friday morning and was filmed by Sky Sport Italia telling onlookers “Forza Inter” as he got off the plane.
The deal includes a 10 per cent sell-on clause for Middlesbrough, the club from which Spurs signed Spence for £12.5m, rising to £20m with add-ons, in July 2022.
Inter replace Denzel Dumfries, who left for Real Madrid earlier in the summer, with a player whose ability to operate on both flanks has made him an attractive option for the Nerazzurri’s wing-back system.
A Tottenham statement read: “We have reached an agreement with Inter Milan for the transfer of Jed Spence. The defender arrived from Middlesbrough in July 2022 and made 85 appearances in our colours, scoring two goals.”
“The 26-year-old spent time on loan with Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes, Leeds United and Italian side Genoa before returning to N17 in the summer of 2024 and helping the team to European glory in Bilbao in May 2025.
“After making his England debut in September 2025, Jed now has 14 caps to his name and featured for his country at this summer’s World Cup where the Three Lions reached the semi-finals of the competition. We wish him well for the future.”
