Sevilla piled misery on struggling Valencia in La Liga, claiming a late 1-0 win to move up to third in La Liga.
Valencia entered the match after a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Barcelona, which left them at the bottom of the table.
Their defense was more effective at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but Valencia were unable to avoid another defeat as Juan Iglesias scored nine minutes from time to give the hosts the points.
Iglesias rose superbly to head home from Giorgi Kokhorashvili’s free kick from the left.
Seville is Two points behind leaders Barcelona after playing a game more. Valencia still has just one point to their name.

Schalke achieved its first victory since its return to the German League, after defeating Union Berlin 3-1.
Robin Goossens scored for Schalke in the 25th minute, then Adil Oushishi doubled his shot into the net at the near post at the beginning of the second half.
Tim Skarke’s shot in the sixth minute of 12 extra minutes gave Union hope, but Maximilian Woeber restored Schalke’s lead with two goals in the final seconds.
In the French League, Adrian Thomasson scored the only goal in the match, as Rennes rose, at least temporarily, to the top of the standings with a 1-0 victory over Marseille, which suffered its third defeat in a row.
