The Pentagon selects Boeing to build a new carrier-based fighter jet to replace the F/A-18 G trends

The Pentagon has selected Boeing to build the U.S. Navy’s next generation fighter jet in a contract worth $20 billion, officials announced Tuesday. The contract calls for the production of F/A-XX, or “attack fighters,” under the “Next Generation Air Dominance Program,” a Pentagon statement said, adding that the new aircraft will replace the aging Super Hornets fleet starting in the 2030s. The announcement marks the second time Boeing has been selected by the Pentagon during Trump’s second election.
