With Deadlock’s latest update promising six new heroes, over 10,000 new voice lines, and more to mention, it’s clear that Valve is still very committed to it. G Trends

It’s weird that Deadlock is technically a game that hasn’t been released yet, right? You can’t even play it as someone who has never played it, you have to have someone who already has access to send you an invite. Valve hasn’t even really publicly acknowledged its existence, and they still treat it like a little secret that everyone is involved in. Two years later, however, it’s still getting updates, and the latest one arrived today and changes…well, a lot.

For starters, six new heroes will be coming to the game: Nurse Harrow, an evil nurse, fan artists will definitely make some salacious fan art, Rat King, an anthropomorphic rat who is a king, Solomon, a guy who plays chess I guess, Deadman Danny, a zombie who looks like The Rocketeer, Baba, a sweet old woman and witch, and Violet, an artist.

Then there’s the massive visual overhaul. All three main lanes have been given a makeover, with the blue lane really leaning into the mid-century New York aesthetic, the green lane for a more gothic vibe, and the yellow lane for an industrial/Wall Street vibe. Among all of this are the four districts, one based on the theater district, another on Chinatown, another simply haunted, and the last being an elegant square.

The map itself isn’t the only thing that has received an upgrade, as many elements of the game’s UI and HUD have been improved, including clearer health bars, improved stat indicators, an event feed to see the most important moments in a match, and much more. Additionally, the ping system has been reworked, and various other communications-related elements have also been refreshed.

In terms of other bits, over 10,000 un-pinged voice lines have been added, which is just a bit overkill, with a dialog player that lets you listen to them all. A display of your parry’s cooldown can now be seen near your crosshairs, and custom lobbies have been expanded to accommodate up to eight spectators. There are also a host of new accessibility features, such as changing the colors of your enemies, automatic movement and shooting options, voiceover subtitles and much more. There are really too many changes, additions, reworks, you know to mention it, so you can read the rest properly. here.
