Sunderland lost their 100% record in European League After a late goal cost them another win in Poland.

Timur Totirov’s first big goal after just 78 seconds put the Black Cats on course for a third win in the league stage.

But the home team improved in the second half and got the point they deserved when substitute Liu Bengtsson scored the equaliser.

Sunderland occupies last place in the English Premier League, but is in a good position in Europe after its score rose to seven points.

They took the lead immediately after a terrible pass from goalkeeper Mateusz Lies was picked out by Nelson Angulo who crossed to give Totirov a simple header.

The match was very open and the two teams exchanged opportunities through counterattacks, the best of which went to Malik Fofana, who shot a ball that bounced off the post.

Patrick Wallmark went wide early in the second half when Poznań took the lead.

Sub Bengtsson shot wide but was clinical later on as a corner kick went unaddressed to score his first goal in the competition this season.

The first half had chances for both sides, as the two teams shared 41 shots on goal, but no one was able to score the winning goal.

With two home matches against Dinamo Zagreb and Jagiellonia scheduled for November, Sunderland are in a good position.
