A Brazilian indie studio debuts with a narrative adventure game that proudly wears its 1990s influences on its sleeve. Au Revoir, developed by Curitiba-based Invisible Studio and published by Nuntius Games, is scheduled to launch on September 17, 2026 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series
The game casts players in the shoes of Tristan, a protagonist navigating a dystopian world where choices shape the unfolding narrative. Invisible Studio has been open about its ambition to modernize the point-and-click formula, deliberately moving away from one of the genre’s most notorious frustrations. “Many games relied on very well-hidden objects, as well as unintuitive object combinations and trial-and-error puzzles,” says producer Leonardo Pedroso. The team’s solution was to prioritize accessibility and story dynamics, ensuring that players progress through the investigation and narrative rather than getting stuck searching for a single object barely visible on screen.

The inspirations behind Au Revoir make for fascinating reading. Westwood Studios’ classic Blade Runner (1997) is cited as a major influence, alongside Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 2 on the original PlayStation, the latter pair informing both the puzzle design and distinctive 32-bit visual aesthetic. There’s even a charming behind-the-scenes detail buried in the development story: before protagonist Tristan had his own character model, the studio used a fictionalized PSX-style version of the protagonist from Blade Runner 2049. “We spent a lot of time playing the role of ‘Ryan Gosling’ while exploring the world of Au Revoir,” notes Pedroso. The studio also cites Disco Elysium, Nobody Wants to Die, Detroit: Become Human, The Bookwalker: Thief of Tales and The Wolf Among Us as touchstones for the game’s tone and branching narrative approach.

Invisible Studio is a first-time developer formed by a group of students, which makes Au Revoir’s scope all the more striking. The team conducted extensive research into the history of the genre before a single line of the game was written, resulting in a thoughtful and deliberate design philosophy. Nuntius Games, the Brazilian publisher behind the project, has a stated goal of bringing Brazilian-developed titles to a global audience, and Au Revoir appears to be an important first step in that direction.

Au Revoir is available now on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo platforms ahead of its release in September 2026. You can add it to your list via the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store or Nintendo eShop. More information is expected from Nuntius Games in the coming months.
