At least six people were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, including a 9-year-old girl, Palestinian health officials said, as mediators held further talks to secure a US-brokered ceasefire.
Medics said that Israeli fire that targeted a camp on the eastern side of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip led to the death of Tala Abu Matar (9 years old). The Israeli army said it had no knowledge of the incident.
An air strike on a metal foundry in the Al-Sabra neighborhood in Gaza City resulted in the deaths of four people. Eyewitnesses said that the site was hit by three Israeli missiles.
The Israeli army told reporters that it had struck “terrorist” infrastructure, without providing further details.
Separately, the army said that since Thursday its forces had killed at least two Hamas fighters in northern Gaza who were planning attacks on its forces.
Later on Sunday, doctors said that an Israeli raid on a camp in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Yunis in the south, killing at least one person and wounding several others, including children.
