Miley Cyrus shared a touching moment with a fan who faced one of her toughest fights.
According to Fan Cash Jacobs When she was diagnosed with Stage III cancer, she posted a video on social media in hopes of convincing Cyrus, 33, to shave his head for her.
Following the post, Cyrus’ team reached out and made it happen by picking up the singer’s hair clippers backstage after her Oct. 18 show at the Hollywood Bowl.
Jacobs shared footage of the experience on her Instagram and TikTok on Wednesday, October 21, and praised the “Flowers” singer for agreeing to shave her head.
“Are we actually doing this?” Cyrus said in the video before quipping, “I’ve shaved my head before.”
The Grammy winner offered words of encouragement to her fan, telling her, “You can be gentle and strong at the same time.”
Cyrus also noted that it’s normal to feel mixed emotions, telling Jacobs she can think, “I’m scared” and “I can fucking do this” at the same time.
The “Midnight Sky” singer added, “Everyone suffers differently.”
The clip then showed Cyrus hyping Jacobs up by telling her, “Let’s go girl, let’s do it,” as she shaved her head in front of a mirror with the camera rolling.
Jacobs expressed his gratitude for the heartwarming moment in both the post’s caption and in a follow-up TikTok video.
“Not only did Miley fly me back to LA with tickets to Night 2 at the Hollywood Bowl, but she also took the time to meet with me afterwards and help me through one of the scariest and most intimate moments of my life,” Jacobs explained in the post’s caption.
She continued, “Finding out I had breast cancer, having a port placed in my chest, and starting chemotherapy was hard enough. Not to mention the side effects I would soon face from chemotherapy.”
Jacobs noted that Cyrus’ music had often helped her get through difficult times in her life, and explained how she successfully tried to get the attention of Cyrus’ team to have the star shave her head.
Jacobs further described the encounter as an “opportunity of a lifetime” and a “wish come true” and praised Cyrus for agreeing to the idea.
“Miley is the gentlest, coolest, kindest and most genuine person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting or spending time with,” Jacobs wrote. “And not to mention she shaves my damn head!!!!!! WHAT?!?”
Cyrus’ Hollywood Bowl performances marked the “Wrecking Ball” singer’s first full concert in four years after she retired from live touring.
