I’m a big fan of those September weekends where I wake up and my room has neither the humidity nor the ambient temperature of a Eden Project rainforest-o-dome. Fall was my third favorite season at best, but I think we need to have a serious conversation about the first two.
The extra thermal headroom to comfortably run a graphics card nice and warm also makes it one of the best times to play games. Including these, and also the ones you are going to tell us about in the comments.

I’ll probably jump between NBA 2K27 and Crusader Kings 3, building very different but equally revered or disastrous dynasties. Years will pass, courts will be held, armies of similarly dressed people will march from place to place, powerful people will rise and fall, gaudy golden balls will be handed out, and talking heads will document it all in fascinated tones.

I finally have cats here in Scotland! Mango and Maisie. The first is a lovely one year old orange and white boi. The latter is a 4 month old crazy white kitten. Mandatory photo. This weekend I’m going to play the game of trying not to die of blood loss from the hundred thousand scratches that cover every inch of my body.

My time with The Blood of Dawnwalker continues as I continue running around this little Romanian valley, becoming OP enough to destroy the big bad. I just helped a goat become a local mob boss; everything is possible!

I’d also like to play Wardogs, although for probably dumber reasons. I also go in and out of the brutalist freerunner Vholume, which… I don’t know, is that okay? Nice “Early Source game” aesthetic and quality parkour, to be sure, although I haven’t yet felt compelled to go through more than two or three stages at a time. I hope this doesn’t mean I’m bored of wallrunning games. Who am I without wallrunning games?
Julian, Callum and Dion all had their PCs explode simultaneously, in an event police described as “not suspicious but very funny”.
