What are we all playing this weekend? G Trends

It’s definitely not summer anymore. I’m writing this with the lights on because the screen backlight is suddenly too bright for those eyes made weak and lazy by the abundance of natural lighting.

I will have to train them again by looking at torches with an increasingly larger number of lumens. Finally, I look at the goal of the 200,000 lumens of the IMALENT MS32 which conquer the night.

And here I thought I wouldn’t have anything to do while visiting my parents, but it looks like I have a workout routine to follow.

Let’s see what everyone else is doing, shall we?

I’m in Leeds this weekend, so little to no video games for me. However, I’m currently watching the Resident Evil movie, and while I doubt it will, if my handsome boy Nemesis shows up, I will throw myself out of my chair and cheer like a proud father watching his son score a goal in a little championship game. I kind of hope not, because I’ll have a date, and I expect that to decimate any budding romantic chemistry I’ve been building so far.

I have to play Roman Sands before Edwin kills me in what, medically, is known as Why Don’t You Play Roman Sands Blood Rage (WAYNPRSBR).

Well, I have to play Control: Resonant before James hits me with his shapeshifting baseball bat. I also need to play (redacted) and buy new shoes. I have holes in all my shoes now and the weather is changing.

It’ll be more Crusader Kings 3 for me, plus maybe a bit of Automobilista 2, now I’ve decided I have a weakness for a bit of simmy going around in circles again.

I tried out Wardogs the other day and hope to play a lot more. This game features some pretty smart design decisions. It’s way ahead of Battlefield.

I finished The Blood of Dawnwalker earlier this week and will probably take a break this weekend to think about how I went the Folk Hero route and played Brencis solo because none of my allies were really reliable. (My Coen is in trouble after Anca dumps him.) That said, I may start playing Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen again – that’s right, the SNES game – which I started earlier this year but put off because finding all those secret locations on the map required a guide. (Hah, look at the guide writer who needs a guide)

Whereas with my family, the only game I’ll probably play is Racing Demon, which is a sort of competitive solitaire that was a Benson devotee long before I was born. I remember the first family vacation where it was decided that I was old enough to learn (with the handicap of only a five-card Demon) and how that quickly increased to a rule of thirteen. Not because I was good at the game, you have to understand, but because my parents thought that getting used to losing would build my character. At a cousin’s wedding this summer, there was a room set up with a long card table and the Benson contingent would have missed the speeches if the bride hadn’t delayed them so she could finish her turn.

And you, dear reader, what are you playing this weekend…?
