Totally safe railway company | Wild West 2026 cooperative game G Trends

Independent publisher Flagship Interactive and developer Biotech Gameworks have announced Totally Safe Railway Co., a cooperative railway management game set against the backdrop of a wild and unpredictable frontier. Available on PC via Steam in Q4 2026, the game puts players in the shoes of cowboy drivers tasked with building and managing their own railroad company, one chaotic journey at a time.

The main gameplay involves driving a physics-based steam locomotive, transporting passengers and cargo between towns, and fending off the various threats that make frontier life so dangerous. Train robbers, ambushes, and dangerous wildlife are just some of the dangers players will face on the tracks, and the game makes it clear that no two journeys will play out the same. Routes, stations, towns, and encounters are all procedurally organized, making each run feel fresh and keeping things unpredictable.

Progression involves expanding and improving your train over time. Players start with a modest locomotive and can add new train cars, strengthen defenses, and expand their operations as they progress through the Wild West. Refueling and repairing the train is also part of the routine, adding a layer of management to what is already shaping up to be a fairly hands-on experience. This feels like the kind of game where coordination between players matters just as much as firepower.

One of the most entertaining mechanics is the lasso, which Biotech Gameworks describes as a cowboy’s most important tool. It can be used to collect loot, fight animals and outlaws, move objects, and, perhaps most importantly, annoy other players. This latter use case seems to be responsible for a lot of chaos, and probably several plans that got derailed during co-op sessions.

Totally Safe Railway Co. is developed by Biotech Gameworks, a small independent studio focused on multiplayer titles and replayable simulation experiences. Flagship Interactive, the publisher behind the project, supports the games from announcement to post-launch.
