Aston Villa and Brentford shared the points in an entertaining 2-2 draw at Villa Park, with Christopher Agger scoring a late equalizer just two minutes after John McGinn had put the hosts ahead.
Brentford got off to a flying start and took the lead after 10 minutes when Tyrone Mings won possession and Yehor Yarmolyuk fired a powerful shot into the bottom corner.
However, Villa responded after just 88 seconds. McGinn moved forward before Emiliano Buendia’s shot fell past Nicholas Jackson, who converted it from close range.
Unai Emery’s team took the lead in the match and created many chances before the end of the first half, as Johan Manzami was denied scoring twice during one attack.
Jackson then missed a good chance to score his second before Caoimhin Kelleher made two excellent saves to deny the striker and McGinn in first-half stoppage time.

Brentford threatened shortly after the restart, with Kevin Shade forcing Zion Suzuki into a sharp save, while Buendia blocked a powerful shot at the other end.
Villa eventually completed the turnaround in the 77th minute when Manzambi crossed to McGinn inside the box, allowing the Scotland international to fire a low right-footed shot into the bottom corner.
However, the home side’s lead lasted only two minutes.
Jadon Anthony set up Ajer on the edge of the box and the defender calmly finished to put Brentford level again.
Both teams continued to push for the win, with Kelleher comfortably saving another McGinn effort before Michael Kayode was booked for bringing down Jackson.
Villa came close to snatching the three points in stoppage time when Ibrahim Mbaye stormed into the penalty area and shot toward the goal from a tight angle.
However, Kelleher made another excellent save to tip the rising ball over the bar, ensuring the points were shared after an eventful afternoon in Birmingham.
