Barcelona have completed the signing of Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal on a permanent deal for a fee worth £8.6m.
The 29-year-old has fallen down the ranks of Arsenal’s strikers in recent seasons amid a series of injury problems, while Kai Havertz and Victor Gyukiris have become the club’s preferred options at the striker position.
Napoli also showed interest in Jesus, but the former Manchester City striker chose to continue his career in Spain.
Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and scored 32 goals while providing 22 assists in 123 matches with the Gunners.
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta confirmed before his team’s victory over Aston Villa that Jesus was no longer training with the first team.
Jesus became Barcelona’s third signing since A Premier League The club this summer, following the arrival of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle and Rodri from Manchester City.
