A host of Premier League teams registered victories in the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday evening.
Crystal Palace beat Middlesbrough 3-0, Bournemouth also achieved their first win under Marco Rose by defeating Lincoln City 4-0, while Newcastle and Sunderland both qualified with 1-0 wins.

Bournemouth 4-0 Lincoln City
Bournemouth achieved the most notable win of the night, as Ryan Christie scored a hat-trick to beat Lincoln. Christie scored in the seventh, 69th and 88th minutes before Alex Scott scored the fourth goal in stoppage time. This was Marco Rose’s first official win as Bournemouth coach and a very encouraging performance in the cup.
Crystal Palace 3–0 Middlesbrough
Palace took control through Jurgen Strand-Larsen, who headed them ahead before adding a second goal after the end of the first half. Daichi Kamada then made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute to put the tie beyond doubt. A comfortable night for Palace against Championship rivals and securing a place in the last 16.
Leyton Orient 1–3 Bradford City
Orient actually took the lead with an own goal, but Bradford turned the game around just before half-time when Ollie Sanderson equalised. Kyle Hudlin then put Bradford ahead after the break, before Bobby Pointon added a late third to seal an impressive away win.
Sunderland 1–0 Hull City
It was much tighter, with neither side able to achieve a breakthrough for most of the night. Finally, Shamseddine Talbi settled the result in the 71st minute, after he cleverly shot a powerful ball from Hull goalkeeper Dillon Phillips after a pass from Thomas Meunier. Hull pressed for an equaliser, but Sunderland held on to reach the fourth round.
Millwall 0–1 Newcastle United
Newcastle survived a serious scare at The Den, with Millwall creating arguably better chances for long periods and even hitting the post late on. Joe Willock finally broke the deadlock in the 81st minute, his effort deflected off a pass from Lewis Hall down the left flank. Millwall were unable to find a response, so the holders made it 1-0 despite a far from convincing performance.
