Goalkeeper Ronald Koeman Jr., the son of former Netherlands defender and head coach Ronald Koeman, scored twice for Dutch side Telstar to salvage a point in their league match against Cambuur.
Koeman Junior scored two goals from a penalty kick to draw 2-2, and the second penalty kick came in the 11th minute of stoppage time in the second half.
The 31-year-old is no stranger to finding the back of the net, having previously scored a penalty, when he scored the winner against FC Volendam to confirm Telstar’s relegation safety in May.
In Sunday’s match, a Telstar player was sent off in the 22nd minute and conceded two goals in the second half as bottom club Cambuur fell behind less than half an hour before the end of the match.
However, the home team were awarded two penalties – in the 63rd and 101st minutes – and Koeman duly converted to become the first goalkeeper to score twice in an Eredivisie match.
Famous father
Koeman Jr’s father, Ronald, was also known for his goalscoring exploits despite being mostly used as a defender.
He played for clubs including PSV Eindhoven, Ajax and Barcelona, and was part of the Dutch team that lifted the European Championship in 1988 – the only major competition the men’s national team has won to date.
As a manager, Koeman was Netherlands coach from 2023-26, leaving his post after the country was eliminated in the round of 32 by Morocco at the World Cup this summer.
