Juventus scored an equalizer in the 92nd minute to salvage a point in their Serie A clash with rivals Milan in Turin.
Substitute Federico Gatti equalized with his head in the final minutes after youngster Alphadjo Cisse came on as a substitute to open the scoring for Milan.
The result maintained both teams’ unbeaten start to the season, with each of them achieving two wins in their first two league matches.
A tightly contested first half
In what was a fairly uneventful first quarter, Nicholas Gonzalez grazed Mike Maignan’s gloves with a powerful shot from 30 yards.
The Milan goalkeeper was called into action again in the 25th minute, making a good save from Francisco Conceicao’s shot after cutting in from the right flank.
The ball was blocked into the path of Manuel Locatelli but the Juve captain was unable to get clean contact on the rebound.
Conceição went close again before half-time but Mignan equalized again to end the first half in a scoreless draw.
A teenager puts Milan ahead
After the restart, Juve again looked for the opener, and were inches away from finding it when Conceição raced wide but the winger’s shot hit the post.
There was then a flurry of changes from both benches, and the infusion of fresh legs quickly paid off for the visitors.
In the 68th minute, youngster Cisse, who had been introduced just over five minutes earlier, latched on to a cross from Samuel Chukwueze before cutting in and directing a shot that settled into the far corner.
Juventus equalize late
This was Milan’s first shot on target in the match. He surprised Juventus. Nick Foltimadi, on loan from Newcastle, was brought in for his Juventus debut in a bid to salvage something from the tie.
The Magpies’ record was set when a late effort sent the ball flying harmlessly, as the Old Lady piled on the pressure in the closing stages.
The pressure finally paid off in stoppage time, when Juve substitute Gatti fired a header past Maignan, sending the home fans into ecstasy.
