If you enjoyed Cloudpunk, you may have kept an eye out for Nivalis, the slice-of-life RPG set in the same world. Well, Nivalis no longer exists but that’s not bad news. Instead, Nivalis was renamed Nivalis Nights and now has a release date. Developer ION Lands has confirmed that Nivalis Nights will launch on September 29 on Steam, and there’s a new trailer showcasing more of the world.
The trailer shows your humble beginnings as a noodle stall owner, but life can take many different turns. From this stand, you can decide to start a thriving business that will grow until the city talks about it, or spend your time fishing, decorating your apartment, or looking for other opportunities in the city. If the straight and narrow life doesn’t suit you, you may want to expand your influence in the city’s criminal underworld, earn money and make a name for yourself. ION Lands said news and announcements regarding Nivalis Nights had been quiet for some time because since October the studio had been dealing with a legal matter that has since been resolved.
Cloudpunk Review
In our Cloudpunk review, Gareth said: “Cloudpunk offers the look and feel of a cyberpunk city, but it just doesn’t fill the city with anything interesting. The story is okay and there are a few side conversations to keep you entertained, but once the novelty of driving around Nivalis wears off, you’ll recognize that this is a game made up entirely of fetch quests. The city is beautiful, it’s just a shame it doesn’t have more attractions.
