Two of the Champions League favorites meet tonight in an exciting match at the Parc des Princes.
Paris Saint-Germain are the two-time defending champions and flexed their muscles again last week with a scintillating first-half performance against Manchester City that paved the way to a 4-2 win at the Etihad Stadium.
Worried about Luis Enrique at the back. PSG have conceded in each of their last five matches in all competitions, and that is a major concern against the most powerful attack in Europe’s top five leagues.
“We want to win,” said the Paris Saint-Germain coach, who will face his former club. “In terms of the competition as a whole, it may not be that important, but it is a special match. These are two great clubs with a clear identity and both are great to watch, so we want to make the most of them. It will be a good sports competition.
“It will be a close match because both teams have great individual quality. Playing at home makes a difference for us; we are much stronger here. We are a machine: that’s what I think about when I see our players pressing.”
In the other corner is a Barcelona team that seems unstoppable at the moment. The 5-2 win over Real Betis on Saturday at La Cartuja made it 11 wins out of 11 in all competitions, and they come to Paris among the leaders in the Champions League standings after beating Feyenoord 5-1 and coming from behind to beat Galatasaray 4-1 in Istanbul.
