Sid Wilson seems to mark his exit Slipknot After the legendary rock band confirmed that he is no longer a member.
Observant fans noticed that Wilson, the band’s DJ and keyboardist for nearly 30 years, changed his Instagram bio to indicate that he is no longer associated with the band, changing the description from “@slipknot gang since 1997” to “@slipknot 1997-2026.”
The band confirmed on Friday, August 14 that they are no longer affiliated with Wilson, 49, releasing a now-deleted statement on their official website, which was also shared by the rock music festival Knotfest’s official Instagram account.
“Effective immediately, Slipknot will no longer be associated with Sid Wilson,” the statement read. “We wish him all the best for his future endeavors.”

The Knotfest account also shared the following caption, confirming that the band shared the same one Statement on his website: “Slipknot have parted ways with Sid Wilson. The announcement was briefly posted on the band’s website.” (Media output Stereogum shared a screenshot of the band’s website announcement confirming their existence before subsequently being deleted.)

Wilson has not publicly commented on his status with the band beyond his Instagram bio update. Us has reached out to Wilson several times for comment but has received no response.
However, Wilson reportedly referred to himself as a member of Slipknot just days before the band’s announcement.
“How are you Sid, DJ Starscream/#0, from the world famous Slipknot, how are you doing tonight?” Wilson told the audience at the World Scratch Invitational last week via shared footage via social media.
The news of the DJ’s departure from the band also comes in connection with his broken engagement Kelly OsbourneDaughter of the late legendary rock star Ozzy Osbourne.

On August 3, Kelly, 41, seemingly threw some very public and not-so-cryptic shade at Wilson when she seemingly accused him of not taking “responsibility” for his alleged actions, without elaborating.
“Strange that the loudest defense of the guilty is rarely innocence… It’s a distraction,” Kelly, 41, wrote via her Instagram Stories at the time. “If the mask slips, instead of looking in the mirror, they throw it at someone else.”
She added: “I also heard that if you break a mirror you get seven years of bad luck! Or is that just karma? That’s why I always take responsibility. As they say, some are sicker than others.”
