Rappers Lil Durk remains jailed after a jury found him not guilty of murder-for-hire at his trial.

A federal jury acquitted 33-year-old Lil Durk (real name Durk Banks) on Friday, September 11, after he was accused of plotting a murder-for-hire, according to Los Angeles. ABC Partner.

Lil Durk’s co-defendant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson And David Brian Lindseywere each convicted of stalking and conspiracy to commit stalking and acquitted in the remaining cases. For his part, Lil Durk was acquitted of all charges.

Despite the acquittal, Lil Durk remains in prison awaiting a second trial on multiple federal murder and firearms charges, scheduled for next month. (Lil Durk has pleaded not guilty to all charges.)

The rap star rose to fame in 2013 with the release of his book Signed on the street Mixtape series. Lil Durk was signed to Def Jam Records the following year. Under the record label umbrella, Lil Durk released two studio-length albums before leaving Def Jam in 2018.

Lil Durk later signed with Alamo Records and released two more albums. He won his first Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance in February 2024.

Cole, you gotta do your best, you know what I’m saying? … It was a task (with) a lot of bumps along the way, but I think it’s for everyone. He added: “I like what they’re doing now (in the rap genre). They’re not putting any limits on it. They’re not trying to do it for someone else, they’re doing it for themselves, you know what I mean? So, shout out to the whole generation among us and with us.”
